FG Take Over IDP Camps In Borno

The federal government has began distribution of clothing and textile materials to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Maiduguri to signify the official takeover of the IDPs camps by the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.
Addressing the displaced persons at the camp in Federal Technical College, Maiduguri, the Director General of NEMA Mohammed Sani-Sidi said the agency has already deployed more of its officers to assist them and will continue to supply appropriate relief supports to ensure the well being of the people while at the camp.
Sani-Sidi assured the people of the federal government’s commitment and determination to ensuring that appropriate supports for them especially in the areas of their health, feeding, shelter and hygiene.
Borno state governor Kashim Shettima, who received the NEMA team at the government house, appreciated the federal government for the taking over of the IDP camps across the state.
Currently, there are about 22 IDP camps in Maiduguri, and NEMA also provides supports to the displaced persons in the various camps in Adamawa and Yobe states.
