Wada Unveils Hummel Kits For Kogi Football Teams

Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada, has unveiled the Hummel jerseys and logo for the Kogi State Football Teams.
The Governor on unveiling the jersey, said though the team may not have won, their performance had been very impressive.
Wada also congratulated the Female National Football Team, Super Falcons, for their performance in the ongoing Female World Cup in Canada. The Falcons crashed out of the championship in the group stage, after losing to Australia and US and securing a draw against Sweden.
To improve performance of the State’s football teams, the Kogi United and Confluence Queens Football Clubs which were formed in 1993 and 1994 respectively by the then Military Administrator, Colonel Pun Omeruo, has been restructured by the incumbent Governor
While unveiling the new jerseys and appending his signature on the football, Captain Wada commended the Humel of Denmark for kitting the state’s teams.
He also urged the players to value the jerseys and slogans of the team by remaining focused, persevere and disciplined, as they file out for matches, wearing the new jerseys.
The Governor also described football as a social instrument for the promotion of unity, social development and tourism, as he promised to continue to support the game while appealing to all stakeholders to buy and wear the new jersey as a mark of respect and support for the team.
In their separate speeches, the manager of one of the clubs, Mallam Abdul Sule, and the Chairman, Kogi State Football Association Umar Isah, commended the Governor for re-branding the football team in line with football best practices in the world.
