This is how the Super Eagles players fared in the 4-2 win against Argentina.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria were brilliant against Argentina, staging a comeback to beat the South American giants 4-2 in a friendly on Tuesday, November 14.
Nigeria fell 2-0 down in the first 35 minutes as Ever Banega and Sergio Aguero netted for Argentina.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored pulled a goal back for the Super Eagles late in the first half before Alex Iwobi and Byran Idowu completed the win in the second half.

Daniel Akpeyi (Goalkeeper)
This might be Akpeyi’s last game for the Super Eagles as competition for the goalkeeping places heat up.
The goalkeeper was a suspect all through the first half and made the basic error of touching the ball with his hand outside the area which led to the freekick from which Argentina opened the scoring.

Shehu Abdullahi (Right-back)
Abdullahi got caught out at right several times and he struggled to cope with the pace of the Argentines often times.
The Argentines might have pinpointed him as a weakness and exploited the left wing. Ángel Di María troubled him all through the first half.

William Troost-Ekong (Central defence)
Super Eagles best defender all through the game as he commanded the three-man backline for 90 minutes. Marked well and was decent all through.

Leon Balogun (Central defence)
Struggled to cope with the pace of the Argentine in the first and looked very lost in the three-man defence. Recovered in the second half to put in some decent work.

Chidozie Awaziem (Central defence)
Played on the right of the three-man defence and put in some decent work. He wasn’t phased by the occasion.

Ola Aina (Left-back)
Was solid in a first half where the Super Eagles didn’t go forward much although the cross for the second goal did come from his wing. He however still had a decent game.

Wilfred Ndidi (Defensive midfield)
Ndidi recovered from a nervy first half to put in some dominant display against Argentina. In the second half, the Leicester City man was everywhere in midfield, tackling, intercepting and shielding the back three.

John Ogu (Central midfield)
Struggling for fitness and exertions from the 90 minutes he played against Algeria four days ago, Ogu was still decent in the game. He launched the attack that led to the equaliser and fought well in midfield.

John Mikel Obi (Central midfield)

Did nothing in the first half but returned to put in a dominant shift in midfield. The Argentines could not contain Mikel in midfield as the former Chelsea man ran the game. His passes, ball retention and hold-up play lifted the Super Eagles in the second half.

Alex Iwobi (Forward)
Did nothing in the first half except to win the freekick from where Kelechi Iheanacho pulled one back for Nigeria.
In the second half, he was a constant threat to the Argentines with his forward runs and dribbling. He scored two, the second after nutmegging Javier Mascherano.

Kelechi Iheanacho (Forward)

Inconspicuous for much of the first half before he turned up to pull one back for Nigeria with a freekick. In the second half, he came deeper in the midfield from where he ran the game and had two assists.

Francis Uzoho (Goalkeeper)
Came in the second half to put in a very confident and assured performance. Went for every ball in his area and had a firm grip on the ball.
He brought so much confidence to the whole team and staked his claim for the number one spot.

Tyronne Ebuehi (Right-back)
Had a very solid 45-minutes and performed better than Abdullahi. He marked well and also attacked his line well. Very solid performance from the young defender.

Brain Idowu (Left-back)
Can’t remember the last time I saw a left-back in the Super Eagles join the attack with so much vim and verve.
Had a solid showing which he rounded up with a goal on his debut.

Ahmed Musa (Forward)
Musa brought more pain for the tiring Argentine and provided an assist for Iwobi.

Kayode came in so late and didn’t play long enough to get a rating.
