Anthony Joshua: Boxer broke his nose during fight against Takam
Anthony Joshua broke his nose in the second round during a head clash with Takam.
Anthony Joshua might have won his fight against Carlos Takam via a 10th-round knock-out but it came with a price.
Joshua broke his nose during the fight which he won to retain his world heavyweight titles.
The nose break happened during a head clash with Takam but he dug deep till the 10th round when he knocked out his opponent to win.
The nose break led to bleeding in the second round of the fight.
After his win, Joshua says he wants the nose repaired first before thinking of his next fight.
“It feels it! (broken),” Joshua told Sky Sports after the fight.
“He's like Holyfield coming under and up. This is championship fighting. I had to keep my cool in there.
“You have to control these situations if I show any signs of weakness the referee could jump in.”
“I want to get my nose cracked back in place first. We have a few months now to heal it up and get a doctor to look at it, we work with some great doctors and then we can get back in training,” he added.
Joshua’s knockout win against Takam means Joshua has won via knockouts in all of his 20 professional fights.
