It's heaven straight... the Pope has blessed me -- Blatter

Fifa president Sepp Blatter claims that those that accuse him of corruption should be sent to jail and believes he'll make it to heaven.

The 79-year-old recently suggested that he will continue in his role as president – despite appearing to have stepped down from the role following corruption claims last month.

Blatter has been head of Fifa for 17 years but his reign has been blighted by high-profile allegations of corruption during his term at the governing body.

However, Blatter maintains he has a clear conscience and insists that anyone that accuses him of wrongdoing should be sent to prison.

‘Anybody who calls me corrupt because Fifa is corrupt, I can only shake my head,’ said Blatter.

‘Everybody who says something like that should go to jail.

‘My faith has given me strength during the last week. I’m a religious person and pray, too. I own a golden cross that has been blessed by Pope Francis.

‘I believe I will go to heaven one day but I believe there is no hell. I disagree with the Pope on that.’
